Hola to All,
Lot of questions have come at me re "Why Linux?" MS has done a great job in convincing the world that Linux is for techies. Unfortunately there is no billions per year marketing department at 'Linux' to counter them, so Linux has simply let its actions speak for how really good it is.
One thing people have heard but really don't seem to grasp is the how/why Linux has absolutely no need for any anti-virus, anti-malware software. It is hard to grasp after spending decades with Windoze chasing the latest anti-virus software, getting the latest updates, MS patching patches with patches, etc.
I just ran across this Youtube video "The Fundamental Differences between Windows and Linux". It is a 40 minute video that has no fancy graphics; just a straight forward text presentation with voice-over going over why, among other topics, Linux has no anti-virus need.
I highly recommend this video if you are curious about Linux and much of the hoopla made of it by us users. The first 30 minutes are very informative for beginners; the last 10 minutes is more for the "I wanna dig a lot deeper" types that may enjoy using that black DOS-like window with the blinking cursor...A real snore (and rarely necessary to use!) for most that are totally unfamiliar with Linux!
Anyway, here is the link:
