This is the last time this season that I'll be making soup for our community as warm weather is upon us, although this past week I did have to put the hood up on my sweatshirt when I walked the dogs at 6 a.m. A MN friend of mine sent me lima beans and I made a lima bean with barley and ham soup this week. I thought it was too bland when it was done, so I added some salsa from Carne Asada that I had in the freezer. Bazinga!! It's so good I kept a liter for myself. To compliment the lima bean soup, I made some cornbread with corn from a local vender. I also made chocolate chip brownies and a raspberry pie. You can buy a piece of pie or the entire thing if you get to the Marketplace early enough. Lastly, I'll have loaves of my quinoa bread, made with quinoa, whole wheat flour, white flour, local honey, sea salt, coconut oil and yeast. We Marketplace vendors, including our latest addition of Gary the Canner, really appreciate your compras.
