San Carlos Photography Enthusiasts will meet on Friday, March 13 at 8:30 AM at Tequilas Restaurant & Bar located at Calle Almirante Blvd. Gabriel Estrada near Marina San Carlos. This month’s featured speaker is photographer Daniel Schmidtka Garcia.  Daniel will be talking about low light photography.

A brief photo show and tell from members will also be included in this month’s meeting. Attendees are encouraged to send in one of their favorite photos to share with the group. Those wanting to participate should email a photo to by Wednesday, March 11 for inclusion in the show and tell portion of the meeting.

Those attending may also bring their cameras or other gear should they have any questions about use of their equipment during the Gear Talk segment. With such a diverse group of members, SCPE is a great resource for getting advice and suggestions. Bring your camera or other equipment if you need hands-on assistance.

This month’s photo field trip will be to the El Colorado area to photograph crested saguaro cacti and wildlife in the region. The trip leaves at 6:15 AM from the Bartina parking lot on Thursday, March 19. Attendees should bring their camera gear, water, sunscreen and bug spray and any snacks they need and should wear durable shoes and a cap or hat and long sleeves because some of the cacti are in heavy brush areas. Participants will be asked to contribute a few pesos to help cover the cost of fuel for those driving. We should be back in San Carlos by around 1:00 PM.

San Carlos Photography Enthusiasts is meant to be a place for all photographers to come together and exchange ideas and information. Beginners to professionals all can learn and contribute to the programs and conversation.
