Post here if you can make it for practice this Saturday at 10am at the Paradiso grounds. Late arrivals OK during these first two practice sessions. Bring any and all baseball equipment that you have down here, except bases.

Is that our good luck or our bad luck? LOL!!!! See you there, Mel.

This is so perfect. Our softball season starts down here in conditions that are springlike; it's green and the temps are mild.

It's spring training in November, followed by 5 months of playing. When we're done, baseball in the States starts up again.

I have FINALLY found a remedy to my lifelong winter depression of no baseball for 5 months.

Looks like a lotta fun, Tug. Too bad I'm 70 years old, but I've had a lot of fun playing baseball over the (many) years.I did letter in baseball(hardball)in high school in Germany, but you can figure out how long ago THAT was LOL...Papa Dick. I'd like to come out to watch the games though. Where is the playground again?

For you newcomers, we are playing on GRASS, if you can believe it. Not that the bounces are true, but it does tend to slow the ball down a lot. And the grass is pretty thick right now, after the rains.

Just a note: we will not be requiring the 150 peso fee until the first game. So, you can come and practice for free. But those of you who know how much fun it was last year are more than willing to pony up at practice.

We had 15 players at today's practice. That's a great turnout for the first one.

And 13 of us made it to the Soggy Peso afterwards.
Now THAT was a great turnout!

I really feel bad that I missed practice but there were circumstances beyond my control. Namely, I could not be more then 10 feet from the nearest banjo due to a bad case of the Mexican Two Step!

But by Tuesday I should be OK.
