We checked offshore yesterday. There was a warm finger that came up this side, though warm water is still on the other side and is not far from the Island. We saw tons of 80-200' deep readings, birds, and Common and Spotted Dolphin, but no bites.
In close, we have been getting some nice cabrilla to 15#, though we have lost some bigger ones. There is a decent bite at the Island and up the coast for yellowtail. A new hot area for big fish is down by the lighthouse off Guaymas. The bait is small, but one friend caught them on medium-sized blue poppers. We've caught some nice yellowtail around the Seamounts and they are starting to come up off San Antonio. The bonita are biting again from the marina entrance on up to San Antonio. My friend caught some Sierra around Deer Island, but I don't think the area has turned on again. Still lots of bait out there and we just had the new moon, but it might get really good soon. We, and two other boats released marlin last week, but it is too cold out front at the moment. They could return though. They were here in numbers, but the water visibility was terrible. Now it is clear, but cold.

Tight Lines,

Bryan

Marlin and yellowtail all over the Seamounts and then Doble and Lalo's today. Chased one school that must have gone 12 knots for two miles.

6 big ones today, most on green 30'. Saw a few marlin. Crazy boils, but no one was hooking up. Dug up a few handfuls to try tomorrow, but they are attacking the bait balls. 2-6" yellowtailed spindlebacks. Bonita in close and had one big Coco Naco.

Good bite today, 5 of 9 on lures. First time I've seen them a little offshore.
